Getting A New Phone From Verizon

Let me start off by stating this is NOT a sponsored post. =) Now with that out of the way, I’m off…

I’ve been with Verizon for about 6-7 yrs. I like their customer service and we’ve never really had issues. I do drop calls in the strangest places, but it’s not often.

The phone I have currently is 2 yrs old and it’s the Motorola KRZR K1m in Red. I know, you’re jealous, or at least you were 3 yrs ago.

It’s time for the big upgrade. My battery has only been lasting about 10-15 minutes before it has to be recharged. That’s been going on since April or so. Yes, annoying, but I wasn’t going to spend $40+ on a battery when I’m going to upgrade in August.

Now’s the time. Well, in a few weeks anyway. So, I’m researching phones. Do I get a Smartphone because of all the blogging I’m doing and trying to stay connected to Social Media?

If I don’t get a Smartphone I will have to wait 1-2 yrs before I get one and I’m not sure I want to do that. It’ll have to happen sometime, but it’s a matter of when!

On the flip side, if I DO get a Smartphone, there’s a $30/mo Data package that’s required. Well, as a single mom of 4 kids working part time, that might not be feasible. Feed my kids ~ Data plan. Gas in the van ~ Data plan. Ah, the choices we have to make!

Droid X by Motorola

BlackBerry Storm 2

HTC Droid Incredible

If I don’t go with Smartphone then I will have to look at the Multimedia phones, which I’m not thrilled with. We shall see.
