I am entered to win 1 of 3 gift cards to Growing Tree Toys with this post as my entry. I am definitely using this Wish List and sending it out to my family!
Does your son or daughter ever pretend they are a super hero? Doesn’t every kid need a superhero cape? I think they do and PowerCapes has got the answer!!
We received our PowerCape in the mail shortly after we placed the order. My son loved it. I wasn’t sure if being 7 yrs old might tamp down his excitement, but no fear! He loved it.
Now, in all honesty, I thought he might be a bit old for it and I got it specifically for his cousin. Well, Doodle had so much fun with the personalized superhero cape it looks like I will need to order one for Christmas!
Doodle put that cape on and headed out to our porch to climb onto the ledge. I was like, “What in the world are you doing?” Cause you know, he can’t really fly! He said, “I do this all the time.” Good to know.
At one point he wanted to use the PowerCape flying behind him. I really think this kid loves the cape and is sad to see it go.
One of the things I love about the cape is the fabric. It’s made from satin so it flows fluidly behind the kids as they run. The edges are serged as well as the emblem. There’s a pretty heavy duty Velcro closure for around the neck. A nice feature when you know the kids are going to be putting them on and off over and over.
Now here’s the awesome part about PowerCapes. They don’t stop at just kids capes. They have them for adults! There’s the option for getting an entire outfit:
PowerCape
Shirt
Blaster Cuffs
Mask
Have you thought about having a superhero themed birthday party for you kids? If so you can even rent their capes! How cool is that?
Now it’s your chance to get you hands on one of these awesome PowerCapes!
Required: Head to PowerCapes and tell me what item you’d love to have.

The boys and I received some great products in the mail a couple weeks ago! We received Shout products along with an outdoor activity card set titled 52 Nature Activities. Shout knows how dirty kids can get when heading to the great outdoors, even when the outdoors means your front yard.
The Shout actually arrived just in time because the weather here in MN is perfect for the boys to be playing football in our yard with the neighbor kids. Of course touch football includes major grass stains: We broke out the 52 Nature Activity Cards and headed out for the afternoon. Here’s what we did…
Made up stories about the life of a couple of trees in our yard.Closed our eyes and listened to the noises around us. Then with our eyes still closed we tried to make those same noises.
And the boys took turns leading each other around. One brother would lead the other one who had their eyes closed. They learned quickly to be careful so the other one didn’t get hurt.
Shout’s Go Play Initiative emphasizes the value of play for children. You can learn more on their Facebook page.
I’d like to thank Growing Tree Toys for connecting me with Shout. You can learn more about their learning toys by visiting their website!
I wanted to include a message from Shout:
Shout knows play is so much more than fun and games. Studies show that unstructured play helps kids build fundamental skills like problem solving, coping, and conflict resolution. In other words: play is how kids become happy, healthy adults. Fall has arrived with crisp, cool air and new reasons to go out and play. So, let your kids take that rewarding jump into a pile of leaves. Take at trip to the park and watch their imaginations run free. The one thing you won’t do is worry about their clothes; play should get messy and Shout can help.
The opinions expressed in this post are my own. Products were sent via Growing Tree Toys for Shout.
I’m so distracted with the Chilean Mine Rescue I nearly forgot about the linky! Yikes! Praise God they’re all safely home!
Well, you know the drill:
To add your giveaway linky you must link to your giveaway not to your homepage! It will be deleted if it doesn’t. Spam will go as well. If you believe I’ve deleted your linky by accident, please let me know.

I came home from Bible study this afternoon and what do my wandering eyes see on Twitter? A tweet from @MomItForward that I am the Mom of the Day!
Little ol’ me! If they only new the truth! They may have to rename it just for today: Bad Mom of the Day! LOL Although, the boys have been gone all day at school so I’ve been a pretty decent mom. *grin*
In the last few weeks I’ve been joining in the #gno @MomItForward Twitter parties. You know how much I love my Twitter parties. I have really had fun connecting with the ladies and a couple of the guys (@TroyPattee & @Dadventurous, both married).
Recently, as of last week, they began their Mom of the Day!
I’d love to have you check out Mom It Forward. They have some great posts. Check out Troy’s post that had me in tears from laughing so hard during last night’s Twitter party.
Are you wondering if your child should be in sports? Their most recent post will give you some points to consider.
To keep up with the #gno (Girls Night Out) parties on Twitter check out their #gno page.
Thanks to MIF for choosing me to be today’s Mom of the Day! You guys rock!
